Neutral Village Yuushoushiai is the first chapter of Avatar The Lost Book, Forgotten Chapters. It was the combination of two original threads, Come One Come All and Meeting At Midnight. They were both edited for grammar, spelling, organizational, and chronological purposes.

Since then, the first chapter has been edited several times, its first being on 2/18/09 and its last being on 5/4/11. These edits were done, in order for the beginning of the story to become understandable, flow easily, and without any plot holes.

The chapter begins with the entire thread Meeting At Midnight, where many of the main antagonists make their first appearance. The Fire Nation organizes a special meeting, to discuss plans regarding Yuushoushiai, and a special item within the villages outskirts.

Azula appoints three of her Generals to find this powerful item, so that it may bolster the Fire Nation's strength. Ryuzaki, Abarai, and Jin, are hand-selected for their expertise and experiences. Little is learned of these three, yet at this time.

They are also informed to keep an watchful eye on the nearby village and it's event. To do so, they must later infiltrate the city undercover. Yuushoushiai, a neutral village in the war, will hold its annual tournament, one day prior to this meeting.

The second half of the chapter consists of the entire Come One Come All thread, where several protagonists make their first appearances. The village is packed full of strangers entering the tournament, including Seth a 15 year old boy, Kozue a 14 year old girl and her pet Itachi, Rosso a 18 year old female, Lee a 16 year old, Roister a 14 year old, Ai a short 16 year old, and Ryuzaki.

While tournament regulations and paperwork drag on, much of the cast interacted with each other, resulting in comical and awkward conversations. Beings that the tournament was a partner event, all participants were matched together in a team of two.

The list below, went as followed, and each named character made an appearance in this chapter or another, except for Tsu, Ju, and Ochi. Kozue, another participant, also didn't receive a partner until later in the story. Her teammate was assigned a spot, before they had arrived, as explained by the tournament staff.

This tournament list was both the combination of the thread Come One Come All and the first chapter edits, and went as followed, Roister & Seth, Borong & Zhong, Ryuzaki & Ai, Lee & Rosso, Akem & Roy, Zaraki & Luang, The Boulder & Hippo, Hirsohi & Tsu, Yaiba & Ju, Renji & Ochi, and Kozue & ???

The only two teams focused on during this chapter were Lee & Rosso, and Ryuzaki & Ai's. While there were interactions between Seth and Roister, it wouldn't be until later chapters where it would further become developed.

Despite comical approaches, hints were left, which suggested more than their partners led on, especially Ryuzaki who was a Fire Nation general posing as a civilian. Eventually the first tournament battle, which consisted of Ryuzaki & Ai against Borong & Zhong, was underway.

The chapter ends before the first battle, which takes place during the second chapter, The Tournament Begins.
